Nude photography is a complicated genre. It requires being both a photographer, and a psychologist who will be able to run a photoshoot and to make the model feel more confident.
It was challenging to find a model for my first new photos. Since this genre is quite extraordinary, not everyone will agree to such a photoshoot. At that point, my wife helped me implement my ideas. Therefore, we had no embarrassment issues. I was gradually improving my photography skills, and over time, ladies themselves started to ask to accept them as models.
Yes, girls are different: those who’ve already posed for other nude photographers feel less embarrassed. Those who have the first posing experience should be approached skilfully and appropriately. It’s a good idea to beforehand discuss nudity extent, the plot, the idea, and to get the lady as interested as possible.
Before taking part in the nude photoshoot, the lady has to make sure she’s interested, as she will be taking off her clothes and posing in front of an unknown man. Of course, I don’t get down to filming immediately. I try to make the model feel comfortable. As an option, we can discuss something in a friendly atmosphere, or I can offer her tea with cookies.
If I don’t achieve the model’s comfort, and she feels reserved during the photoshoot, it’s not going to work. Yes, such things happen. Of course, I can adjust the pose, set the light, but her eyes will still express fear, awkwardness and tension. Based on my experience, I can say that such photos don’t catch viewers’ eyes.
