Somehow film photography still has a lot of fans. And it’s not only because of a unique image, granularity and color rendering, as it can be achieved through processing digital photos. Film photography is not so much about the result as it is about the filming process. It possesses an intrigue, a sort of excitement.
I appreciate film photography for its ability to make me think over each shot, to be more attentive to the plot and the composition. My love for film photography encouraged me to collect reflex film cameras. In this article, I’d like to share my collection with you.
It contains cameras of all brands dating back to the 70s and 80s. They’re in perfect condition and functional. Moreover, I enjoy using some of them for filming.
When I travel, I take Pentax Me with a very compact 40-mm lens. This camera is very convenient and light, and it makes beautiful shots.
One of my first film cameras, Cosina, was bought by chance, when I was walking along Odessa. An old man was selling it for 15 dollars. I separately bought a good lens called TAKUMAR. With this camera, I’d made quite a few good shots which became a part of the NYMF art gallery.
In the next part, I’ll tell you what camera I used to take my first film photos during my school years.
