Choosing a model

Photography is my passion, my self-expression, my hobby. I enjoy filming, especially when I see great outcomes.

All women are special and possess their own nature, charisma and charms. When choosing a model for the art photoshoot, I lean on natural beauty. I’m ok with weight, scars, nevi, freckles. Judging from my experience, I can say that any woman will look beautiful if she’s offered appropriate character, clothing and outfits. For instance, a heavy-set woman will look great at the bakery or as a female peasant, and so on.

However, except for natural appearance, the model should trigger viewers’ emotions, which is, to some extent, more important than beauty, gracefulness or other qualities. Sometimes I come across perfectly-looking ladies (just like from a fashion magazine), but I don’t see them in my works, because their appearance doesn’t have that “highlight”, spirit and emotion. With her presentation and charisma, a peasant-style heavy-set woman can better communicate appropriate spirit and catch viewers’ attention.
